Enrolment As A Cadet

A student of a school who is :
of the age of 12 years or above; or
in a secondary one class or its equivalent; and
is a citizen or a permanent resident of Singapore shall be eligible to be enrolled as a cadet. Non citizens of Singapore or permanent residents may in special cases be enrolled with the approval of the Minister of Education.

A student who desires to be enrolled should make an application to the principal of his/her school or the OC NPCC Unit of the school.

Selection of teacher-Officers in the NPCC

The Principal of a school may submit the names of suitable persons on the teaching staff of the school, who are not below the age of 19 years, for selection to attend the Probationary Inspectors' Basic Course.

Upon the successful completion of the Course, the Council may recommend to the Minister of Education that the person be appointed Probationary Inspector.

Appointment of Honorary Officers and Honorary Instructors

The Minister of Education may appoint Honorary Officers to the Corps from among such persons as he thinks fit. The Minister of Education may also appoint persons who are not members of the Corps and wish to volunteer their services to the Corps as Honorary Instructors.
