13. Washstand

Materials required:

2 long poles

7 short poles

Twine

A basin

Method:

Construct a towel stand by lashing a short pole across the 2 ends of the long poles. Tie another short pole in the middle part of the long pole. Lash 3 more short poles outwards from the middle part of the long poles, parallel to the ground. Lastly, tie the 2 remaining poles vertically to the corners of the square formed. Use square lashings for all the joints. Then place a basin at the centre of the square as in diagram.

14. Mud Scrapper

Materials required:

A long pole

A piece of plywood

Method:

Make a slit at one end of the long pole. Insert the plywood board and secure with nail.

15. Camper's Carrier

Materials required:

7 medium poles

8 short poles

2 slings

Twine

Method:

Use diagonal lashing to tie the 2 longest poles. Use square lashing for the rest of the poles. Tie the slings to the horizontal poles.

16. Ladder

Materials required:

2 long poles

7 ascending length poles

Twine

Method:

Tie a diagonal lashing to the 2 longest poles. Use square lashings to construct the rest of the ladder.
